It requires the ability to establish priorities with the client, use knowledge of the effects of treatment on skin structure and design and provide a safe and effective treatment. Micro-Dermabrasion Treatments can be provided as an individual service or form part of a series of services.

This Nationally Accredited and recognised unit of competency applies to beauty therapist who work in beauty salons, clinics and spas.  In this environment they work in a team but exercise judgment in selecting and providing an appropriate treatment.

The skills in this unit must be applied in accordance with Commonwealth and State or Territory legislation, Australian standards and industry codes of practice.

PRE-REQUISITE UNITS

  • SHBBINFOO2 – Maintain infection control standards
  • SHBBSSC001 – Incorporate knowledge of skin structure and functions into beauty therapy
  • SHBBSSC002 – Incorporate knowledge of body structures and functions into beauty therapy

WHO SHOULD COMPLETE THE COURSE

Skin therapists with knowledge of skin biology and skill in providing skin therapies. They provide treatments in skin or beauty therapy clinics, salons and spas according to legislative requirements and organisational policies and procedures.

COURSE OUTCOME

On completion of ALL assessment tasks to a competent standard you will receive a -

  • Nationally Accredited Statement of Attainment - SHBBSKS009 - Provide Microdermabrasion Treatments

Dermaskin Training will assist you in every way they can to ensure you perform to the best of your ability and successfully complete your chosen training course.

Dermaskin Training is however, unable to guarantee you will be issued with a certificate of completion nor obtain a particular employment outcome.

COURSE DURATION

Course is expected to be completed within 3 months maximum, but can be adjusted according to individual needs.

  • Theory and assessment via online, face to face or live class and completed at own pace
  • Practical demonstration and tuition 6hr face to face in clinic or via live class
