SHBBINF002 Maintain Infection Control Standards unit of competency describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to maintain infection control during skin penetration procedures and to review clinic compliance with the applicable state or territory requirements. The unit is designed to provide you with the ability to identify, manage and control infection risks to clients, self and work colleagues.

COURSE DURATION
This course is completed over 3 weeks and made up as follows
Self paced home study
– Review all notes, powerpoints resources to be able to complete theory assessment
– Complete underpinning knowledge assessment
– Complete a review of current workplaces compliance with Infection control policies
– Practically demonstrate application of skin penetration that involves skin penetration procedures in our student clinic
COURSE LOCATION
This course is delivered online and face to face allowing you to complete the training in your own time, at your own pace.
Students have 3 months to complete the course and can complete it anytime within the timeframe. The 3 months includes working through all the theory, checkpoints, quizzes and practical assessment component/s.
The practical assessment must be demonstrated in a workplace that performs skin penetration procedures/treatments or in a simulated environment that reflects workplace conditions. The practical assessment component can be submitted as a video (online). If you do not have a suitable environment for your practical assessment, please organise with a local workplace that performs skin penetration procedures to film at their location.
